The D.L. Miller Funeral Home began in 1973 when Lee Miller and his wife Ruth purchased the Robbins Funeral Home in Bloomingdale, Michigan as well as the Robbins Funeral Home in Gobles, Michigan. After two successful years of running the Robbins Funeral Homes, the Miller's purchased a third home, the Stafford Funeral Home in Bangor, Michigan.

In 1983 they acquired a fourth home, the McKane Funeral Home, also in Bangor (the buildings were made available to the city for use as the police department and library). At this time they changed the name of each of their establishments to the D.L. Miller Funeral Home, as the homes distinguished themselves with the titles “Bloomingdale Chapel,” “Gobles Chapel” and the “Bangor Chapel.”

While unifying the homes with the D.L. Miller name, Lee developed the homes' logo: a never ending circle of love that continues even through death, while the sunrise and/or sunset symbolize the assurance that love and remembrance will last forever, and the sun will shine again.

Now in their 31 st year of service, the D.L. Miller Funeral Home continues to stay true to their motto, “putting your family first when it means the most.”
