Brad J. Emenhiser

Brad J. Emenhiser age 37 of Bangor passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI. Brad was born April 27, 1979 in St. Joseph, the son of Jim and Marge (Carpenter) Emenhiser and has lived all of his life in the Bangor area where he married his high school sweetheart. He graduated from Bangor High School in 1998. He became a member of the Millwright local 1102 in 2002 and earned a journeyman status in 2006. He was selected to represent the training center in Michigan state apprenticeship competition and continued to expand in leadership roles by becoming a Superintendent of Atlantic Plant Maintenance. He was known to lead by example and to leave a positive impression on every job site he encountered. He traveled the country leading and representing the finest skilled tradesman in the field and his demonstration of leadership will be taught and recognized by many generations of future leaders to come. Prior to being with the Millwrights he was the manager of the South Haven Pizza Hut. Brad enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, camping, playing cards and ping pong. He enjoyed always attending the annual bowhunter's picnic and the Harris-Newton reunion. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids. He also enjoyed spending time with his many cousins, baseball, swim, Wood school and work families. He is fondly remembered as a professional campfire pizza pie- iron cooker. He was also known for his very unique personality and sense of style, including always rolling up his sleeves. Those who knew Brad knew they could always count on him to help in addition to being willing to help strangers stranded on the side of the road. Brad graciously accepted being "voluntold" by his wife to help out where needed. Surviving are his wife, Jennifer T. who he married Oct. 7, 2001; 2 children, Zack age 12, Olivia age 9; parents, Jim and Marjorie Emenhiser, Barry and Karen Tourtellotte; sister, Jennifer E. Emenhiser, Jessica Tourtellotte; 2 nieces, Karagen, Kassidy Miksa; and his best friend, cousin and co-worker, Jesse Carpenter. The family will meet friends 5-8 PM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, South Haven. Interment will follow in Monks Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made for the family fund.
