Cynthia Lyn Dietrich

Cynthia Lyn Dietrich of Gobles, Michigan passed away suddenly on Tuesday April 21st, 2015. Cynthia was born December 3rd, 1955 in Allegan, Michigan. Though her life began and ended in Michigan, she lived in many places giving her a diverse perspective on life. Cynthia was happiest in Southern California and often referred to it as home. She also enjoyed spending time in Boca Raton, Florida. Cynthia held various jobs from selling Star Maps in Hollywood to being a housekeeper for a world-renowned architect to licensed manicurist to managing a psychiatrist’s office. Her most recent employment began in November 1996 at the Perrigo Company in Allegan, Michigan. Not a typical blue collar worker, Cynthia stood out as the California girl when she showed up dressed to the hilt for orientation to work on a packaging line or for a casual company function. In a few short years she worked her way up the company ranks from a line worker to an office position as a quality assurance technician. Cynthia was proud to be a Perrigo employee and made many friends while there. Cynthia was very interested in her personal appearance, including health, fitness and organic living. She was particularly fond of goat cheese and would eat it by the pound. Anyone who shared a meal with her knew they best layer their food properly for optimal digestion or catch heck. She also enjoyed snuggling in bed while reading biographical books or her favorite magazine, Vanity Fair, or watching her programs on television. Cynthia was a good-hearted person always willing to help those less fortunate or in a down and out situation. She was very generous with her friends and family. She had a soft spot for all living creatures and would feed any strays that showed up on her porch including the squirrel that kept breaking into her house. Cynthia is preceded in death by her brother Chris Eugene Dietrich. She is survived by her mother Barbara Sue Dietrich (nee Boyer), Father George William Dietrich III, daughter Tamara Zellmer (nee Kassem) and grandsons Dakota M. Blodgett and Kona The Barbarian. Those well acquainted with Cynthia knew of her fondness for her white 1988 Mercedes Benz. She will be laid to rest in Robinson Cemetery in Gobles, Michigan with a memento from her beloved car. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Sylvia’s Place in Allegan Michigan, the Al-Van Humane Society in South Haven, Michigan or any worthy charity of your choice. The family will receive friends for visitation with Cynthia at the D.L. Miller Funeral Home located at 208 West Main in Gobles, Michigan from 1 to 3 P.M. on Saturday May 2nd, 2015. Private interment will take place following the visitation.
