Joshua L. Durian

Joshua Lynn Durian, aged 43, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 10th, 2023 in Dallas, TX. He was born on Oct. 16th, 1979 in St. Joseph, MI, the son of Matthew Durian and Tina Dotson (Durian). Josh grew up in Gobles, eventually making his way to Bay City, MI, where he met Kathryn (LaVasseur) Durian, the one true love of his life. Together they have a daughter, Crislyn, his little princess. He was stepfather to son Martino (Sampson) and Lesley (LaRoche) and grandfather to Kayson. His heart was full of love and pride for them. Along his journey he lived in Colorado with his family where he owned his own painting business, blessing many with his talents. They returned to Gobles, Michigan for a short time, before spending the last few years of his life in Texas. Joshua had a passion for Detroit Lions, Michigan Wolverines, and Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed listening to music and gaming with Madden and MLB -- better than playing them, he loved to watch Tino, Trent, Mason and his brothers compete! Josh could shoot a mean hoop of backyard basketball with family and friends. Mornings were a special time of serving up a hot cup of coffee. Josh simply enjoyed the moment, whether in quiet reflection or an easy chat, it was the time spent with his favorite people that made the moment perfect. He was big brother to sisters Tanya and Sophie and brothers Matthew, Nathen, Jeremiah, and Caleb Durian. Josh never parted without an “I love you” and an “I got you!” He will be dearly missed by his family and loved more than he could ever know. The best way we can honor Joshua in his passing is to live our lives with purpose, love, and grace. We, his family, were his greatest blessing and he loved and cherished us deeply, as we did him. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces; his stepmom Marge (Lisowski) and those mentioned above. Joshua was proceeded in death by his grandparents, John, Joyce Durian, Jackie, Jim Boone and Malcomb, Nettie Dotson; uncles, Don Cassada, Don Dieterman and Troy Dotson.
