Roscoe Allen Johnson

Roscoe (Rocky) A. Johnson – 88 Passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2026, at White Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Lawton, Michigan. Rocky was born December 24th, 1937, in Lawrence, Michigan, the ninth child of Roe E. Johnson & Margie (Utter) Johnson. He attended and graduated from Gobles High School in 1957. Shorty after graduation, he married Marie Helen (Woodward). Rocky and Marie shared many great adventures together in their 39 years of marriage. Bowling, camping, hunting, going to hockey games, but mostly doing a lot of fishing before Marie’s passing in 1996. They had 3 children together, Roe, Carleen Jo, and Alice. Rocky was very blessed after Marie’s passing to meet the next love of his life, JoAnn (Marciniak) Boerman whom he met in 1997, after answering a newspaper ad. They were married in 1999 and shared 22 years together having loads of fun, fishing, camping, going to auctions, yard sales, and gardening. Upon marrying JoAnn, Rocky became a stepfather to Virginia, Janice, and Dale. Rocky worked for ATL/ANR truck lines for 37 years mostly doing short haul fright deliveries to local businesses before retiring in 1994. He loved gardening and was always up for trying to grow different things. He loved hunting, fishing, and was privileged to shoot a few trophy bucks, along with catching some trophy fish over the many years. Rocky is preceded in death by his parents, Roe and Margie Johnson; his 6 brothers and 3 sisters; his wives Marie and JoAnn; son, Roe A. Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Janice (John) Keith; and granddaughter, Jessy Lossie. Surviving him are his sister-in-law, Betty (Don) Johnson, Carleen (Mike) Kyle, Alice (Chuck) Lossie, Virginia (Bruce) Hopson, Dale (Lisa) Wadsworth. Beloved by many grand and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, family would like donations given to Gentiva Hospice, American Heart Association, or American Cancer Association. Visitation will be held at Trowbridge Community Church 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, followed by a service at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Robinson Cemetery, Bloomingdale Township, Michigan.
