Tiffany L. Glidden

Tiffany Lynn Glidden (47) of Grand Junction, MI was taken from us all too soon on March 1, 2017. She leaves behind her loving husband, Eric Ott; her “sunshine,” Samuel (Sammy) Glidden-Fry; her beloved stepchildren, Tegan, McKenzie, and Connor Ott; her parents, Terry and Coralynn (Corky) Glidden; brothers, Trevor and Corbin Glidden; sister-in law, Kim Glidden (nee Cano); nieces, Breanna and S. Glidden; nephew, A. Glidden; father-in-law, William (Bill) Ott; sister-in-law, Karla Figueroa (nee Ott); brother-in-law, Miguel Figueroa; in-laws, John and Judy Fry; and cherished extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her partner, Jeffrey Allen Fry. Tiffany was a lifelong resident of the Bangor community graduating from Bangor High School in 1987 before attending college at Ferris State University where she received an associate’s degree in Marketing and then proceeded to Grand Valley State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications. She spent over 20 years working in Holland at Prince Manufacturing which became Johnson Controls Automotive and had worked on her MBA at Western Michigan University. She had recently gone back to her first love of teaching and was enjoying the joys and challenges of being a substitute teacher primarily in Bangor but had also worked in that capacity throughout Van Buren County. Tiffany also served in a volunteer capacity of Finance Secretary and Director of Christian Education at Bangor Simpson United Methodist Church where she and her family are also members, and she served for many years as a Sunday School teacher. Tiffany was a beautiful, vibrant, loving and caring woman whose greatest joy in life was to make other people happy. She always placed the well-being of others before herself, and she was all about family. She enjoyed spending time with her parents and helping care for them and perhaps made more than occasional use of their pool. She and Eric were finally married just last August after having spent 9 years building their family together. In that time the family has taken two trips to Disney, a summer cross-country camping vacation out west to Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone Park and white water rafting on the Snake River in Wyoming. They had taken trips to the Gulf of Mexico several times visiting the Alabama/Pensacola area and the Mississippi/Louisiana area including New Orleans. They also took a camping vacation out east to white water raft in the Poconos, and visited Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach. All of these trips were by car with 4 kids so, while a little nuts, she loved spending time with her family and traveling. Tiffany cherished her friends, enjoying many good times traveling with them, holidays and other gatherings at the lake, BT, and at many campouts and gatherings in people’s homes. She had a great love of animals, dragonflies, sea turtles, the outdoors, working in her garden, the sun (to her occasional detriment), the beach, the water, and especially scuba diving and even made the most out of Michigan winters with a love of skiing. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 22, from 2:00-4:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 4:00 at the Simpson United Methodist Church in Bangor. As Tiffany would have wished, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Al Van Humane Society or to Sammy’s college fund at Sturgis Bank in Bangor under her husband and Sammy’s guardian’s name, Eric Ott.
