Bruce Dee Hammon

July 25, 1932 - April 27, 2020

Passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at his home. Bruce was born July 25, 1932 in Mount Pleasant, the son of the late Deloss and Marie Hammon and had lived in Otsego since 1978. Bruce loved hunting, fishing and being out in nature. He enjoyed most sports and had served as both a coach and umpire. Bruce was an excellent athlete and an outstanding left-handed catcher during his school days and days playing on the Eaton Corp. baseball team. Ted Parkhurst and Bruce started the Little League program in Bloomingdale in 1958. Bruce went in Nationals for trap and skeet shooting and came in second with a 98. He was an avid bowler, card player and loved animals. Bruce knew how to live life to the fullest. More than anything though, Bruce cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his children, Bruce Hammon Jr., Brian (Teresa) Hammon, Mary (Dan) Carroll, Richard (Suzanne) Hammon, Bob (Suzie) Hammon, Dan (Sherrie) Warner, Dennis Warner; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Dale (Delores) Hammon and Jean Young. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 2014, a brother, Martin Hammon and a sister Norma. A memorial service and burial will take place once current restrictions are lifted.
