Elizabeth A. Ryan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elizabeth A. Ryan age 81 of Bangor Betty Ann passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side in Bangor, Michigan on February 4, 2022. She was the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Medeiros, born on May 31, 1940, in Providence, Rhode Island. She lived in Bristol, Rhode Island throughout her childhood. She attended Salve Regina College where she earned a degree in English. She lived in many states with her family including California, Hawaii, and Florida. In 1984 she moved back to Barrington, Rhode Island where she was actively involved at St. Luke Parish and School. In 2005 she moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where she lived the past 16 years. She enjoyed dining out, flower arranging with her sister, Nancy, and working on all types of puzzles, crossword puzzles and word searches. She was also an avid reader with an adept knowledge of the English language. She loved going to her children’s and grandchildren’s activities in Michigan when she was able. What really mattered to her was living out her Catholic faith and spending time with her family. She shared the love which she gained from her faith. This love overflowed to her family, showing them how to love the Lord our God and genuinely love one another. She is survived by her six children, Arthur (Diane) Cooper of Barrington, RI, Mary (Stan) Taylor of Kalamazoo, MI, Lou Ann (Josh) Barr of Bangor, MI, Debbie (Lee) Welton of Melbourne, FL, Therese (Ron) Searles of Portage, MI, and John Ryan of Barrington, RI; her grandchildren Talya Traub-Cooper, Curtis Taylor, Vanessa (Carlos) Rivera, Jessica Taylor, Zac (Bree) Taylor, AJ Taylor, Justin (Karley) Barr, Joe Barr, Nick Barr, Andrea Barr, Natalie Barr, Jordyn Welton, Liam Welton, Madison Welton, Natasha (Kyle) Downey, Ethan Searles, Mia Searles, and Elena Searles; her great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Alyssa, Madison, Carly, Curtis, Gabe, Harper, Beckett, and Cohen; also surviving is her sister Nancy L. Brazil of Riverside, RI, her nephew and niece, David and Dana, and great niece, Sarah, along with multiple beloved cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will meet friends and loved ones on Wednesday February 9, 2022, from 5-7 PM with a rosary beginning at 7 PM at the Bangor Chapel of the D.L. Miller Funeral Home (www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com). Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at noon at Sacred Heart Church in Bangor, with Father German Perez officiating.
