Beatrice May Kimmel

Beatrice May (Seid) Kimmel “Bea” Age 94 Of Bangor Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2020. Bea was born at home in the small Upper Peninsula town of Rockland on March 1, 1926. She was the 4th of ten children born to Edward and Wilhelmina Seid. Bea moved to Flint to live with her cousins and find employment following graduation from Rockland High School. She met Duane William Kimmel at her sister’s wedding and they were married on May 12, 1945. Bea and Duane lived in Bangor for the 44 years of their marriage. They were members of Bethel Baptist Church in South Haven. Bea was a prayer warrior and was an encouragement to others in many ways. Bea spent the majority of her working years managing her Adult Foster Care Home located on Cass Street at the former Kimmel Convalescent Home. Bea loved her rose garden and working in her yard. She enjoyed reading her Bible and working puzzles. Bea is preceded in death by her husband, Duane William Kimmel, Sr. in 1989; eldest son, Duane William Kimmel, Jr. (Dee) in 1986; brothers, Bill and Gordon; and sisters, Edna and Mirla. Bea is survived by her 3 children, Ruth (Joseph) Higginbotham of Katy, TX, Rachel (Henry) Seys of Bangor, Jonathan (Yvonne) Kimmel of Lake Park, GA; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret, Catherine, Beverly, Carrol and Gladys as well as many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Bea’s granddaughters, Lisa and Kim, and to Bea’s sister Catherine for all their help and support over all these years, what a blessing! Thank you Pam for faithfully taking Bea to church, and to Bea’s church family for their continued encouragement and prayers. Bea loved her wonderful Home-Health Care workers, Regina and Sarah, who were such a blessing to her. Lastly a HUGE Thank You to Ronnie and staff at Graceway at Countryside for their awesome love and care. Bea said “They were all sweethearts!”. God bless you all! There will be a private family viewing and then interment at Arlington Hill Cemetery, Bangor. The family will meet friends and family for an outdoor “Celebration of Life” Friday, September 4, 2020, 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church’s Pavilion in South Haven. In lieu of flowers, Bea’s family requests that memorial donations be sent to Bethel Baptist Church; 06701 Blue Star Hwy.; South Haven, MI 49090, which she loved so much.
