Candy Collins

I went to be with Jesus on Weds day, March 30, 2011. I was born March 22, 1958 to Ron and Althea (Lowe) Hunsberger. I am survived by my mom Althea (Hunsberger) Hallam of Bloomingdale, brother Dan (Vernon Norman) Hunsberger of Bloomingdale, daughter Sarah (Brad) Ashbrook of Parchment, son Sgt. Joshua (Jennifer) Greene of the U. S. Marine Corp in North Carolina and four precious grandchildren Savannah, Lillianne, Maverick, and Hailey, my companion Brian Collins, and my faithful dog companion Gracie. I was preceded in death by my dad Ronald I. Hunsberger and infant sister Cindy Lee Hunsberger, also my grandparents and many aunts and uncles. I was a lifelong resident of Bloomingdale graduating from Bloomingdale High School in 1976. I was in band (drummer) from 5th grade to 12th grade, GAA Cheerleader, 4-H for horses, little league mom and tee ball mom and Bloomingdale Varsity Cheerleading Coach. In 2007 Sarah and I won the Kalamazoo Star Award for “Sleep well in Iraq”. I was a loving mother, grandmother, and was affectionately known to them as “Meme”. I enjoyed every minute I could spend with my children and grandchildren. I enjoyed going to the stockcar races, horseback riding, watching the birds at the feeders, and watching the wildlife; but the greatest love was for the Lord. I am so thankful for the following people; my cousins Pam and Holly Foland, Shelley and Doug Witt and Gary and Marie Smith, and my Aunts Renee Hunsberger, Bernada Bentley and family, Pat Koning. I, also, want to thank, Barb and Dick Brown, Del and Carol Esh, Kristal Hoffman, Rebecca Chester, and all the other people I have forgotten to mention that had been a part of my life. I would also like to give a very special thank you to my mom Althea, my daughter Sarah(Brad), my son JD (Joshua) (Jennifer), and Barb Brown for always taking good care of me, Brian Collins, Dan Hunsberger and Vern Norman. I, also, want to thank Wings of Hope in Allegan and Edie Boone. There will be a graveside service Saturday, 11AM at Pearson Cemetery after cremation has taken place. Pastor Gary Napp will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to an educational account that has been set up for my grandchildren at Chemical Bank.
