Carol Lee Yancey

Carol Lee Yancey, formerly known as Carol Lee Dunn and Carol Lee Johnson, passed away peacefully in Searcy, AR on May 17, 2026 at the age of 78. Carol was born on June 1, 1947 in Hartford, MI where she began a life centered around love, strength, family, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Carol was a woman with a strong spirit and a loving heart. She believed deeply in standing up for what was right and never backed down from what she believed in. Those who knew Carol knew she was honest, fiercely loyal, and never took no crap from nobody. Beneath that strong exterior was a woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. They were truly her whole world. She found happiness in the simple and meaningful moments of life — spending time with loved ones, sharing stories and laughter, and especially going fishing, something she truly loved. Carol created a home filled with love, strength, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Carol is survived by her husband and best friend Jimmy Yancey; she leaves behind 3 beloved children, Teresa Dunn (Bo), Melissa Napier (David), and Charles “Bubba” Dunn (Angie); her loving sisters, Linda Colbert, Kathleen Connick, Patricia Hall; brother, Johnny Johnson; her cherished grandchildren, who referred to her as “Nannie”, Billy Wayne, Tina, Jennifer, Jeremy, Derek, Megan, Carrie, Charles “Bubba” and Ryan. She was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren who brought immense pride and joy to her life, Shania, Mariah, Billy, Bentley, Marianna, Zachary, Aubree, Kennedy, Isla, Ava, Alina, Zander, Robert and Harley. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.G. and Euvelean Huckabee-Johnson; her son, Billy Wayne Dunn; granddaughter, Stephanie Dziekanowski; sisters, Bonnie Johnson, Patsy Thomas; brothers, Bobby Johnson, Billy “ Slick” Johnson and her late husband and father of her children, Charles Wayne Dunn. Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing Carol lived life on her own terms, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unconditional love. Funeral services were held Tuesday 10:00 am at D.L. Miller Funeral Home in Bangor, Michigan with burial immediately following at Thomas Cemetery. Carol will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
