Glen William Keeley Jr.

Glen William Keeley, Jr., age 77, of Gobles, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013. Glen served in the U.S. Army and Reserve from 1954-1962. He worked for AT & T and its subsidiaries for 30 years and also Gibson Guitar in Kalamazoo from 1958-1961. Glen was known as “Pa” to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and a multitude of friends. He was always available for fishing or hunting expeditions at the drop of a hat and many hours were enjoyed by him and his family and friends in Kalkaska and Leroy, MI. For many years he piloted the family around the country in the family pickup camper, including a 1971 trip to Alaska. A later cross-country trip with son Glen and family to Bellingham, WA and back included a stop at Yellowstone and various other sites along the way. Glen and wife Donita, like to travel and made several trips to Mexico, New Mexico, New York, Florida, Georgia, the Caribbean and points along the way. Having been raised on a dairy farm east of Kendall, Glen always had an avid interest and took great pride in his garden and yard. He liked the challenge of growing unusual things like mushrooms and thimble berries. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Glen is survived by his wife, Donita Messinger Keeley, children, Glen W. (Deb) Keeley III, Teresa (Rick) King, Michelle Keeley, Brian (Melissa) Keeley, Sarah (Elijah) Carlson; grandchildren, Danielle Blackman, Jordan (Shannon) Keeley, Josh Keeley and fiancee Rachel Doyle, Ryan (Arica) Keeley, Erica Keeley, Bradlee (Cortnee) Nelson, Shannon Nelson, Nathan Keeley, Trevor Keeley, Joseph Woodard, Matt Woodard and Madison Mizikar, Adam Carlson, Jessica (Mike) Ristich; great-grandchildren, Hunter Keeley, Hayden Keeley, Andrew Nelson, Brieanna Lopez, Ellysia Lopez, Avery Asbeury, Braedon Asbeury, Collin Khayyam; sisters, Roxanne (Gary) Healy, Joanne (Ken) Harrington; brother, Rockie Keeley; mother-in-law, Wilma Messinger; sister-in-law, Sally (Jerry) Mansfield; brother-in-law, Don (Bonnie) Messinger; many nieces and nephews and friends.
