Robin D. Awe (Friedl)

Robin D. Awe (Friedl), age 64, of Grand Junction, passed, surrounded by family, into the loving arms of the Savior she faithfully served on May 8, 2023. Robin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend and will be missed for her listening ear, serving hands and loving heart. Robin was born on June 12 1958 in Chicago, IL to parents, Robert (Bob) and Shirley (Stohl) Friedl. The oldest of four children, she made the move with her family to southwest Michigan at the age of 14 when her parents felt the call of God into full-time ministry. They first served with Rural Bible Mission before founding God’s Helping Hands, Inc. in 1980. Robin graduated from Bloomingdale Public Schools in 1976 and then married the love of her life, Jeffrey Awe, shortly after graduation. Robin, who had a heart for Jesus and for telling others of His salvation, was the one God used to draw Jeff to Himself while she and Jeff were still in school. For the rest of her life, Robin shared Jesus with people. Through her faithful testimony, many accepted His salvation, but Jeff was proud to say that “he was her first!” Jeff and Robin loved each other well and faithfully for 46 years and would have celebrated their 47th anniversary on June 19, 2023. Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Shirley Friedl; her sister, Renee McGuckin; and four unborn babies. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 47 years, Jeff; her children, Jason (Kara) Awe, Holly (Kyle) Brown, Amber (Chris) Knobloch, Courtney Awe, Kendra (Nick) Knobloch, Logan (Emily) Awe, and Jordan Awe; 10 grandchildren: Isley, Kiera, Kylie, Elliana, Alexis, Emma, Kameron, Eowyn, Gwen and Claire. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert (Bob) (Juanita) Friedl, Jr. and Brian (Denise) Friedl. The family will meet friends Thursday, May 18, 3-7 PM, at Calvary Bible Church of Kalamazoo where a memorial service will be held Friday, May 19, at 1 PM, Pastor Bret Laird officiating.
