Travis Taylor

William Travis Taylor Age 52 Of Lawrence Passed away on July 7, 2020. He was born on July 29, 1967 in Atlanta, TX but he lived the majority of his life in Lawrence, MI. He worked as a carpenter for 28 years at Ritsema Associates out of the Kalamazoo Office. On August 1, 1992 he married his best friend and love of his life, Robin. Together they have 3 children; Cassandra Devine, Justin Taylor and Christian Taylor. His children gave him 5 beautiful grandchildren; Emma, Brantlee, Remington, Carson, who will be arriving soon, and Vincent, who passed away at birth. His grandchildren called him “Ta” and they meant the world to him. Wherever their Ta was they were always right beside him. He enjoyed hunting, target shooting, spending time with his children and grandchildren and driving his 2 Haflinger ponies. He belonged to the Van Buren Draft Horse Club and enjoyed spending the week at the Van Buren Youth Fair with his horses every year. He is a member of East Arlington Baptist Church where he previously served as a deacon. He enjoyed fellowship with his Christian brothers on church work nights. His church and work family prayed and supported him through his difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. Also surviving are his parents, Mel & Nancy Wharton of Paw Paw; In laws, Bill & Joyce Beeching of Lawrence; brothers, Richard Taylor of Kalamazoo, MI, Dewayne Taylor of Indianapolis, IN, Don Brown of Seymour, IN, Terry Brown of Gobles, MI, Jason Brown, Terry Brown, James Brown and Don Brown all of Columbus, IN; sisters, Barb Dillion of Elizabethtown, IN and Ginger Muniz of Bangor, MI. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Brown and a brother, Albert Taylor. The family will meet friends 10-12 noon Monday, July 13, 2020 at the East Arlington Baptist Church, 40040 48th Street; Lawrence, MI. There will be a graveside funeral service following at Hicks Cemetery, Arlington Township, at 12:15 PM with Pastor Glen Cowles officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be made to East Arlington Baptist Church Fireworks Fund, eabchurch.org. Travis loved helping organize the 4th of July fireworks outreach to the community.
